Terrified about Hanna?

What do I do? It's seriously going to hit Georgia, isn't it? That's where I live...I'm freaking out. I don't want to die...and I know I will. I live in a trailer...my parents won't evacuate. What do I do? I don't want to get killed by a tornado...much less winds...oh God..I think I'm going to have a panic attack...they said we'd be safe from this, but why? Why is it doing this now? What do I do? Can it possibly change paths? I've never prayed this hard in my life...

  1. You won't die. Just get prepared. We are getting hit by Gustav right now. So I know how scary it can get. It can possibly change paths. But what you don't understand is that after it makes landfall,it will weaken, which is why everyone is saying you will be safe. Just get food and water before the storm incase of power outages. That's pretty much what they told us because everyone here was asking the same questions as you. Good Luck and God Bless you.

  2. First off, let me say that with Jesus at your side, you will have no fear. God eliminates fear and He shall see to it that your life as well as your family, will live. I will personally pray for you and everyone else who is being targeted by Hanna. Quite frankly, I am thankful for the fact that Gustav didn't strike as anything above a category two hurricane. Even so, its bad enough as it is.

Now to move onto something else I must say. Its obvious you have internet access. Therefore, I strongly encourage you to stay updated regularly (at least twice a day) about Hanna and other tropical cyclones at the National Hurricane Center website and/or other very reliable sources. The NHC is working day and night to monitor these things. Many of the local forecast offices will help out with the watches and warnings.

Who said you would be safe from this by the way? Don't worry, I'm not saying you're not safe, but rather I'm suggesting you should be alert for anything that will put you at risk. Hanna is currently moving WSW at 5 mph, but it will eventually shift to the NW. The track could change for various reasons. If a high pressure system dominated the region, then you'd be fine. Tropical cyclones don't like high pressure.

Here is the link to the NHC website. They have a lot of good tools for anyone.

    God Bless and stay aware!

  3. Not terribly worried about Hanna.

Why? Hanna won't strike the Gulf's oil fields along Louisiana...it will most likely hit Alabama and Georgia, not Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

This is a likely scenario. If that is so, if oil prices are probably expected to hit about 133 dollars a barrel because the hurricane had hit some oil rigs and oil refineries along the Louisiana and Mississippi coastlines, oil prices will probably drop about 11 to 14 dollars a barrel to about 116....because Hanna likely will miss those oil rigs.

Looks like hurricane warnings will likely, still, be in place for Georgia, so you better evacuate soon.....and get prepared now!

Better stock up on flashlights, plenty of batteries, and non-perishable food. Better go to the local hardware store if you decide to ride out the storm by staying in your house...better board up your windows because they can break in hurricane-force winds.

But if the police say that you must evacuate, sometimes upon threat of arrest, you better evacuate. Carry only what you can carry, but best to carry important documents like your birth certificate or real estate deed or insurance title on your car, on your way to a storm shelter.

Good luck in confronting Hanna, which could be on the heels of Gustav.
