Ive taken a simple math 100 level course and received a B in it. I am attending grad school for school psychology this fall and I will be enrolled in a 700 level statistics course. If I receive a "C" in the course, I fail. Im terrified and I HATE math! Advice anyone? Is it really that hard? I hear horror stories about it!

  1. I've taken a 300 level Statistics at the University of St. Thomas (about a year ago) and the course is really intense. UST is a really hard school though, but I assume grad school is too.  It's lots of probability and curves, but if you take the time to read, study and work with professors or tutors outside of class you should get higher than a C.

My Advice: Go to ratemyprofessors.com and search for your prof. Check out their rating, and see what people have said about your particular course at the school you are going to.

    Good luck!

  2. I hated math too, and statistics was required for my psychology graduate degree.  It is VERY different than math.  I love statistics, even took prelim's in it!  Don't think about it as math, it is tied more to experimental design and research.  You'll do ok...keep up with it, get a tutor if you need it, form a study group.....good luck!  (psychologist)

  3. I am a poor math student and I took a stat course. I had to drop it because it was Greek to me. Is it required that you take it? If not, I suggest you take something else. Talk to your advisor.
