Terror Alert in Dubai?

Question

I am just wondering how likely an attack is on Dubai. I know it is a high profile city and it is associated with the west but is the heightened alert based on real intelligience or do they feel it is just a prominent target.

I would appreciate hearing how some residents feel on the issue.

Dubai is very safe! I am here since past 3 years. Trust me its even much safer than my home country .

well its best to always be prepared and it does make the country safer knowing that the government is on alert. i think an attack on dubai is highly unlikely. it is backed by powerful GCCs and thats a relationship that is known and valued by all countries - especially countries who, despite having the resources to launch an attack for whatever reason, are dependent on the oil-rich GCCs. so connect the dots and you'll see a small country with enormous influence in the political, economical, and religious arena.

yeah my parents got an email from the british embacy that dubai were recieving terror threats but who knows.
