Terrorist suicide bombers attacking funerals now?

Is this not viewed as an ESCALATION of violence & tactics?

They bombed the procession of anti-Al Qaida/anti-Al Qaeda servicemen, killing all those who were close to them, including family members & I'm sure the man of God as well, most likely overseeing the procession.

unfortunately that is the way people over there take care of things.  It is sad and wrong, but it has been going on for so long now, and the pwoplw who do this really DO believe they are doing this as a religious passage by being a martyr they are helping their cause.  Unfortunately they are usually under educated and easily manipulated.  it is a viscious circle of violence.  Of course things have escalated, but with all the media attention it is only gaining poularity, because these so called martyrs are getting their message of violence through to so many more people.

Oh, for Christ's sake!  It's a WAR, and as the US has pretty much repudiated the Geneva Convention, there are no RULES in WAR except WIN.  We want their oil, and they want their lives and values - if you can't live with them, why NOT die for them?

They want the West, it's representatives and supporters, their values, and their economic power, OUT of the Middle East.  Given the imbalance in power, how would you SUGGEST they fight this war in such a way as to WIN?

Somehow you get the impression that this is the FIRST time this has happened.  Believe me, it is NOT.

Still, can you imagine the feelings of the wedding party and guests, a few years ago, when a bunch of US service men attacked and shot up a wedding, killing several, because the GIs THOUGHT there MIGHT be Al Qaeda in attendance?

Do some research before you publish your "gut" reactions.

this disgusting behaviour has happened many times recently

these 'people' have no respect for anyone

they are murderers and terrorists and target iraqis more oftne than coalition troops .....because mourners don't tend to attend funerals bearing arms

there is unlikely to be peace in this country while this type of tribal and religious infighting continues

these terrorists are determined to wreak havoc as they want the government to fail

they are not interested in democracy and would prefer to rule by fear and intimidation

i suppose some posters will say 'it was lovely under saddam' but that was only because he was the thug in charge and didn't allow anyone to question him ....fine if you were in the same tribe and a henchman
