I was just wondering if anyone has read Terry Goodkinds books. I think the series my sister wants me to read is The Wizards First Rule?

I also want to know if you thought it was worth enough to read?

And what it is about?

Thanks!

  1. amazing series, i lots of my friends borrowed them & not one bad thing was said, that is until you get to the last book & realise that there is no more.

its about a divided Continent & its to do with magic.to the west there is no magic, the magic is held back by a crumbling barrier. the middle is where magic is free & the east is contained by another barrier & most of what happens there is dark. to the south are people who hate anyone who wields magic but can use their powers against them as they have secrets that no one remembers. these people are h**l bent on destroying and misruling the continent.

only three people & an assortment of others can stop this invincible force, richard who lived with no magic & is not bound by its constraints,

his grandfather who is more than he seems & kahlan who is the last of the confessers, sort of a magical judge.

its about love, friendship & alot of trust.

it ranks up there with david eddings, robin hobb & david zindell

& it will keep you occupied for ages theres 11 books & a small side novel, its more than worth it

  2. It is a brilliant series!  The first book is Wizards first Rule.followed by:-

    Stone of tears

    Blood of the Fold

    Temple Of the Winds

    Soul of the Fire

    Faith of the Fallen

    The Pillars of Creation

    Naked Empire

    Chainfire

    Phantom

    Confessor

Spin of one is Debt of Bones

Its the story of Richard a War Wizard and Kahlan the Mother Confesser and a war between good and evil.

  3. Actually it is a really good series. While the main character is a young man he there is also a female main character.  Keep in mind that while the first book is pretty straight forward as you get deeper into the story it does get darker and more violent.  Lots of blood, death, deciet and even some bondage in one of the books.  But it is all done for the story line and really does work towards developing the main character. The main theme through out the series that you should do the right thing but doing the right thing is never easy.

    Its good.

  4. The series drags on far too long and could do with some serious editing. He is clearly writing just to make money out of a popular series and has nothing original to say in the later books; individual books are far too long as well, nothing much happens for page after page, just padding
