Terry Griffiths Matchroom features snooker tournament in memory of Agnes Davies
Paying tribute to the legendary potters by launching a tournament with their name like the Paul Hunter Classic is a common notion in the snooker world. Keeping the spirit and the tradition alive, the Terry Griffiths Matchroom will inaugurate a snooker event
to pay tribute to the former World Ladies Snooker Champion, Agnes Davies.
The Terry Griffiths Matchroom will be hosting the Agnes Davies Memorial Snooker Tournament which will be a major ranking event of World Ladies Billiards and Snooker Association (WLBSA). All top guns of ladies snooker will participate in the tournament to
relive the memories of the late veteran potter.
The likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan’s cousin Maria Catalano, Hannah Jones, Marianne Williams and June Banks will take part in the tournament to make it more memorable and exciting. The potters are quite excited to be a part of the event and give their gratitude
to the legendary cueist.
While speaking to the local media, On Q Promotions’ media manager, Janie Watkins said, “She was probably the greatest ambassador ladies’ snooker ever had. I’m proud to have called her my teammate and life-long friend. She is quite simply a legend in Wales.”
After giving her best to the ladies snooker world, Agnes Davies passed away last year at the age of 90. The tournament with all her memories will commence from Saturday, May 26 at the Terry Griffiths Matchroom in Waunlanyrafon, Wales.
The record holder of most World Ladies Snooker Championship titles, Reanne Evans will not be able to taking part in the event due to her busy schedule at the World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School). She is currently playing at the World Snooker Academy
