I want to read them~ ^^ I've been told before that it doesn't really matter which one you start with because there isn't really any order to them, but there are so many...my question is, which book do you suggest I read first?

  1. it doesn't matter terribly which order you read them in but it helps to read certain ones first since they introduce ideas and characters.

I'd be tempted to start with Guards!Guards! which begins the introduction of the Sam Vimes character - I adore his thread in Pratchett's books.  Rincewind the inept wizzard - you know he's a wizard because he wears a pointy hat - starts off in the book The Color of Magic and I believe that's actually one of the first books Pratchett began the Discworld with so that's a great place to start too.  Also you can start with Wyrd Sisters which introduces you to the Disc world at an angle as Terry spoofs some of the greatest shakesphere classics of all times with his meddling witches.

Anywhere you start you're going to have fun but its even easier to enjoy when you've got background on the characters and how they've gotten where they are in the current book.
