Chelsea’s defender and captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 has gone on to admit that the Blues need to step up their game, and avoid letting their fans down so many times.
The player went on to make these comments following a draw in the FA Cup, to League One side, Brentford.
The game saw http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 score a late goal in it, which helped the team go on and draw the match. Had the Spaniard not found the back of the net, the Blues would have been knocked out of the contest altogether.
Terry feels that the team needs to step up their game and prove that they are still one of the best teams around. He feels that the players mentality needs to be more positive, since they can only progress forward, should their attitude take a more positive
turn.
Chelsea’s captain told reporters: “We need to liven up a bit and realise the importance to the fans and the club. I was disappointed, because we didn’t fight and they wanted it more than us.”
“Fair play to Brentford, they played well. But we need to liven up.”
“Champions League football is a must next season. We saw last season, going to the Champions League final, suffering with all the extra games and stuff like that, we ended up finishing sixth in the League.”
"It’s difficult, but we have a squad. The fact is we’re not winning any trophies at the moment.”
"It was disappointing not scoring over two legs of the semi-final and being as lacklustre as we were at Brentford."
Chelsea’s manager, Rafa Benitez feels that the team was winning not so long ago, and that they need to get back to winning ways as soon as they can. He admitted that he is going to have to talk to his players again, since they are the only ones who can turn
the Blues ship around once again.
"I was talking with Frank and John and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542, about football, and they know the way to change things in football is winning. We were winning nine days ago. We have to start doing that again.”
