Chelsea’s skipper, John Terry will miss the game at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday against Manchester City due to an injury.
The English International, who plays as a defender in Chelsea, made a comeback into the side after recovering from a knee injury. However, he was seen limping after a Champions League match because of a strained calf and Roberto Di Matteo is willing to
rest him, in order to make him available for Saturday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.
"We almost have a fully fit squad for the City game... JT (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895) should be back for Spurs match on Saturday," Di Matteo said on Tuesday in a pre-match conference.
Terry also missed Chelsea’s FA Cup quarterfinal match against Leicester City, which the Blues won 5-2. He last featured for the club at Stamford Bridge in their historic 4-1 win against Napoli in the Champions League. Terry scored the Londoner’s second goal
during that match.
Di Matteo was hoping that the player will be available for the crucial visit to Manchester City, but decided to rest the veteran defender who is suffering from injury.
However, the manager said that Terry will play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 at the weekend when they host Tottenham in a Premier League match on Saturday.
"It's still a bit too early for John Terry. He did very well to come back in such a short time and we were lucky. He should be fine for the weekend." Di Matteo said.

He played for 98 minutes in that match and later missed the Blues FA Cup match due to a calf strain. The Chelsea boss praised the team’s
skipper of making a strong comeback after a knee surgery and believes that the club will need to manage the player in a tough schedule.

The 28 year old Argentine striker was reportedly seen training for City as he was recalled by Mancini in a bid to press for the league title.
However, the Italian ruled out the possibility for the player to start in the starting line-up and said he might come as a substitute in the second half.

In September, Tevez refused to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munich during a Champions League match. Mancini said after the incident that the player’s future in City was over.
