Chelsea skipper John Terry will not take part in England’s friendly fixture against France in midweek.
Terry who missed out on the game against Sunderland that cost Chelsea the match will most certainly not make an appearance for the friendly against France.
The specialist centre back is expected to make a return for Chelsea’s match against Birmingham but will not participate in the friendly against France.
Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti says Terry’s tests were taken and his presence in the national team’s friendly match is most uncertain but he expects him to be back for Chelsea’s next game.
Paulo Ferreira the defender from Portugal and Branislav Ivanovic were the replacements but were unable to perform up to the mark as Sunderland defeated Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. The inclusion of Ferreira instead of Bruma was due to the training session’s
impact that Ferriera created on the manager. The last time the duo played together Chelsea conceded 3 goals in a Carling Cup match.
Sunderland Played a very professional game with a lot of fighting spirit, great mentality and attitude. There was a lot of disappointment for Chelsea fans who have witnessed a second defeat in last three attempts.
Chelsea have been having key players on the bench in important games but still were able to perform well but however this game made Chelsea realise the role specialist centre-back Terry. Ancelotti also said that the squad is very strong but a home defeat
made them unhappy.
Let’s hope for the fans that England do not face the same fate against France that Chelsea faced against Sunderland. Terry’s absence will create a difference in England’s performance however more efforts by the replacements and key players will provide the
fans something to cheer about.
