Chelsea’s skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 has expressed his desire to play for the Blues, despite suffering from two cracked ribs.
The English International admitted after the Champions League quarterfinal against Benfica on Tuesday, that he suffered from breathing problems during the game, but confirmed his availability for the Blues in their run-in to the season. He was substituted
during the game by the Blues manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo after being on the field for almost an hour.
A statement from the club also confirmed that the player had suffered two cracked ribs during last week’s away game against Benfica. The club announced that the decision will be taken on his future after monitoring his progress in the upcoming games.
"It's just horrible. When you get one in the ribs, you can't do anything about it, you can't treat it, you just have let it heal, but I can get through games definitely.” Terry said.
Chelsea will play Wigan Athletic in a Premier League match on Saturday and the Blues veteran defender is likely to sit that match out. However, the English International mentioned that he is not content with being on the sidelines, and remained hopeful that
he won’t miss out the remaining season.
"I don't think it will mean I'm out at all. It's just a case of managing it, and things like that.” He added.
The Blues will play Tottenham Hotspur on 15th April in the FA Cup semi-final, and will later host Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final on 18th. Chelsea have made it into the last four of the elite European competition
for the sixth time in the last nine years.
The 31 year old expressed his resolve that he will battle out his injury to play against Barcelona, and believed that his side are good enough to take on the Spanish giants.
“Clearly, that's going to be tough against Barcelona, but we're playing well. I am not sure anyone will fancy playing us at the moment because we are a very good side, especially in this competition.”
Terry is the only http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player to have played every minute of the Blues last eight games against the Camp Nou side. Last time the two teams met was in the same stage of the competition in 2009, with Barcelona getting the better of the Stamford Bridge side,
after claiming the tie on the away goal rule.
However, the defender thought that his side have got the opportunity to settle their score with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 this time around, and went on to say that the Blues have got the potential to upset any team in the world at Stamford Bridge.
