Tertutup Remaja Perlis 2011: Chang Yee Siang beats Tan Yih Han to win Boys Singles U-15 title
Malaysia’s talented youngster, Chang Yee Siang, has nailed Boys Singles U-15 title as he has crushed Tan Yih Han in the final contest of the Tertutup Remaja Perlis 2011, at Kangar, Malaysia, on Friday, December 30.
Chang Yee displayed remarkable skills throughout the tournament and remained on track to win the final showdown against Tan Yih. He played to his full potential and finished up the match in straight games without wasting any time in the court.
The top seeded Chang Yee finished the title match by taking just 20 minutes in the court. His opponents failed to put up strong resistance in the whole match and lost it without impressing the crowd.
Chang Yee played aggressive badminton without losing his control over the pace of the rallies and took the first game in a one-sided manner. In the following set, Tan Yih changed his tactics and delivered better performance but not enough to stop his higher
ranked rival from winning the match.
In the opening game of this Boys Singles title match, both players put up strong show of their competitive skills and remained close in the opening rallies. However, Chang Yee changed his strategy and started to push and kill the bird from the tape of net.
Tan Yih did not return the smashes of his higher ranked challenger effectively. Chang Yee continued his impressive play and spared no chance for his opponent to put up strong resistance. He ended the opening game with an impressive margin of 21-14.
In the following set, Tan Yih played at his best speed and tried to take the bird early from all areas. He matched the speed of his opponent in the opening half of the game. However, he failed to play positive badminton in the second half.
Chang Yee played composed game in the second half of the set and started to take lead. He remained successful in putting pressure on his lower ranked rival and finished the second set with a three-point margin of 21-18.
This Boys Singles final ended with the victory of Chang Yee who thrashed his opponent with a margin of 21-14 and 21-18.
