Tesco - How many hours part-time?

Hello. I'm almost 16 and looking to get a job at tesco. If anyone works at tesco part time and is also 16, how many hours do you work and for how much?

If you join Tescos  as a part timer while still at college they'll put you on a flexi contract.  When you join you will fill in a sheet of times you can and can't work as a rule.  

You have a very small set number of hours to be completed weekly, which will be multiples of 3 hour shifts; these will be placed in times you've said you're always free, the average is 2 shifts a week, although some people get 3 contracted shifts, and some will only get 1.  So between 3 and 9 hours contracted, entirely depends on how much free time you say you have.

The rest of your hours will come from flexi shifts.  Flexi shifts will be given in times that you have said you are always free, and are usually 1 or 2 a week (if for some reason you are not free that week with valid excuse you can reject the shift).  You don't always get given flexis, quite often if they have a lot to go round they will let you pick when you want to work; its only if they have very few/ you're taking very few that they will hand them out, to ensure everyone is getting enough hours.   On top of the flexis there's always overtime going spare, if you want on  a flexi contract you could be working up to 30 hours a week with ease especially during busy periods, but if you only want to work 9 thats easy.  They're also supportive of exams etc. so you can request to not work your contracted shifts  and have overtime etc. if you need the study time.

Edit: And for how much?  Under 18s get just under £5 an hour, £4.96 or something like that, and time and a half on Sundays.

hi i've just left tescos nightshift.

There where 2 16 year olds working in my store both did 6 til 10 3 nights a week and a saturday afternoon tesco are very flxible with contracts 12 hours up, but never go for a nightshift job. couldn't tell you the pay for being 16 but check the min wage for 16 year olds and it'll probably be a bit more they are the best paying supermarket out there.
