Question:

Tesco bag conspiracy?

Tesco, have decided to award "green" points to shoppers that "reuse" their plastic carrier bags.

Tesco introduced the "I'm bigger and stronger" plastic carrier bag, so that shoppers could get more shopping into one bag and therefore not require so many carrier bags!

Then Tesco decided to with draw the "I'm bigger and stronger" carrier bag and instead ask shoppers if they had brought any carrier bags with them, and if not give out a measly few carrier bags to shopper to place their purchases in.

The current plastic bags issued to shoppers at Tesco, are so thin and useless, that the handles tear off, you need to double bag to carry any thing remotely weighty, and after you've got home your bags are all split, and therefore are only fit for the wheelie bin, so how are we supposed to reuse them?

DO NOT BE FOOLED, THIS IS JUST TESCO's CUNNING PLAN, TO GET US TO BUY THEIR SHOPPING BAGS AT EXTORTIONATE PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  1. Roscoe don't be a cheapskate buy one of their bags for life.  They are very cheap about 10p and are fairly strong.  You take them with you each time you go to shop and if it breaks Tesco replace it for another one.  We cant go on using plastic carrier bags the way we are.  Their shopping bags are not extortionate and last for ever.  Are you just too lazy to remember to take a bag with you to the supermarket.

  2. Morrisons carrierbags are just the same.If you put a couple of heavy items in the bags split.Asda bags are better. All shops are using cheap pastic bags now due to "green pressure".

  3. So get some proper shopping bags (i.e. not plastic ones) so you don't have to use any Tesco bags.

  4. Tesco have a "Bag for Life" at 10p.....i know people who have had this for years and if you can't afford 10p...well I dunno what to say to you!!!

Also the "Finest" bags which are designed to be better and the "Finest" range is normally dearer....they are only 50p

so really.....if you can't even afford that.....I really pity you.....wanna set up a savings account and we'll all donate 10p 2 you??

  5. Don't you be fooled either. Although I agree with you I went a step further.

I'd had ENOUGH of these people knowing my business and I cut up my points card last year. I was spending more and more money in there. I decided to give Aldi a go. There is a few items I wouldn't buy but the majority is good quality, the fruit and veg stays fresher for longer and I buy almost twice as much for less money.

TAKE YOUR OWN BAGS TO NO FRILLS ALDI.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised......!x*x

  6. Nothing new there -

Kiwk Save have always charged for carrier bags !!

  7. so its not just me!!

and there was I feeling guilty at doubling and in some cases tripleing up carrier bags!

waitroses bags are worse though. I dont even make it outside the exit before the bottom tears out.

  8. U are right

  9. When I would go to Tescos I'd just bring my own bags rather than dealing with any of that.  Just easier and I know my bags weren't going to fall apart.

Aldis is cheaper though, and relatively good stuff too.
