  1. It has to be Sainsburys - simply because I prefer their food.  If I was trying to economise I would use Tesco, - trouble is I spend more than I should at Sainburys!, I don't think I have ever shopped in a Waitrose - so no comment.

  2. Our local sainsbury's is miles away so we order from tescos also tesco is cheaper. The prob is that they will give you the food thats going out of date in a couple of days as in a shop you can look at the dates and choose for yourself, i always buy fruit and veg from farmers markets beacuse its much freasher and hasn't been nuked and shiped halfway across the world.

  3. I use Sainsbury, mainly because we prefer the taste and quality of there items. Also its a lot closer than the nearest Tesco's

  4. hey, i haven't a clue why I'm answering your question but anyway!

ummm i actually prefer to buy my fruit, veg and eggs (no meat I'm a vegetarian) from a farm near my area its so much fresher and tastier and also organic.

I've never really chosen home delivery, maybe because i just dnt trust the supermarket people!

but my advice would be neither, just don't do home shopping because you never can tell how old the fruit and veg might be!

they might even have this special section where they keep all the rotten fruit and veg and they send it especially to all the home delivery's because you won't be able to find out!

    Yuck lol ;oP

  5. Sinaburies, definitely.

Even when you've traipsed all the way to their shop, Tesco veg is a disappointment and expensive.  Half the shelves are empty, and what there is is old, dried-up and knackered.

Tesco has also, for some strange reason, started labelling Cos lettuce as "Romaine lettuce".   Part of the yankee takeover I suppose?

A visit to Waitrose reveals that their fruit and and veg is little better than Tesco, and even more ludicrously over-priced.

  6. We used to use Tescos home delivery, but as I only cook with fresh vegetables, we found the same as you that they were not that fresh.

We still went and bought any meat in person as we were not willing to pay for a lump of poor quality fatty meat, that they would just throw in the order, we preferred to choose it ourselves.

Then they started making mistakes with an item here and there.

We now go and get it ourselves, at least now things are fresh, well within date, and decent cuts of meat.

Yes it's hassle on a Friday evening or Saturday and takes 1-2 hours.

But......we do not pay a delivery charge and get better value for our money!!!

  7. It's Sainsburys not Sinaburies

  8. Tesco doesn't' know the meaning of FRESH.  I never buy fruit from them anymore,it goes bad in two days.  They freeze their veg and fruit and as soon as warm air hits it it goes bad from the inside out. I've had so called fresh bread fromTesco put it in the freezer but on defrosting it's gone brown.  My Mum said it was because the dough had been frozen before it was baked.  Sainsbury's are fractionally better, but I suspect they still do the same as the fruit and veg goes off very quickly.  It's just profit, profit, profit, with Supermarkets, they don't care about customers. It's just the money they want.  Why not buy from your local market,it's usually cheaper and NOT been frozen and will keep Supermarkets from gobbling up all little traders.

  9. Dont know about Tesco, as they dont deliver to my postcode, but have had good experience with Sainsburys. Fresh produce and always deliver on time.
