Test cricket is the ultimate format of the game, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739 – Cricket News Update
India’s dashing opening batsman, Virender Sehwag, believes that Test cricket will remain the most important form of the game despite all the hype involved with the shorter versions. The 33-year-old also expressed that he will use the upcoming tour of Sri
Lanka as preparation for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 2012, which will also be played in the Island in September/October.
Sehwag has been out of international cricket since the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, where the Men in Blue failed to defend their title.
There is a school of thought that the popularity of T20s is going to hurt the longer format of the sport but Sehwag thinks that Tests will always remain the pinnacle of the game for players. The aggressive batsman, who holds the record of the highest ODI
knock ever, is not as positive about the future of 50-over sport though.
"You ask any youngster and he would always tell you that he wants to be successful in Test cricket. You will see cricketers retiring from ODIs to prolong their Test career but you will never see a cricketer retiring from both Test and ODI to play only Twenty20,"
he said.
With more than 16 thousand runs at the ultimate level of the game, Sehwag is considered to be one of the most dangerous batsmen of the present-day sport. On his day, the right-hander can single-handedly take the game away from the opposition.

Sehwag expressed, "I played almost all the matches in Indian Premier League and there is no fitness issue now. The ODI tour of Sri Lanka will also help me in preparing for the Twenty20 World Cup to be held there."
