Test cricket is the ultimate level of the game, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380 – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s middle-order batsman, David Hussey has not lost hope of playing the longer version of the sport for his country and expressed that despite all the hype involved with limited-overs cricket, the Test format remains the pinnacle of the game.
The 34-year-old started his first-class career in 2002-03 and performed out of his skin for a number of seasons before getting a chance to prove his worth at the international level in 2008.
Hussey has so far scored more than 12 thousand runs in first-class matches, at an amazing average of 54.84 runs per innings. However, the right-handed batsman has been limited to One Day Internationals and T20 cricket so far. Considering his age, Hussey
is not the favourite to be considered for Test cricket as the Kangaroos are looking to build a team for the future.
However, the right-handed batsman is now getting anxious as he wants to be labelled as a Test cricketer before he finishes his career. Hussey knows that he does not have many years of international cricket ahead of him but the batsman is confident that he
can play a vital role for Australia in the five-day format for a brief period of time.
“I would love to play Test cricket. I am more desperate now more than ever. I am 34 now and getting older. I don't have too many years left in the game. I think I have two years of good competitiveness in the game. I want desperately to play Test cricket.
I'd like to play the Ashes,” said Hussey.
The cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 has played a lot of limited-overs cricket all around the globe and does not deny the importance of the shorter formats, however, the hard-hitting batsman thinks that Test cricket is the dream of every budding cricketer.
Hussey expressed, “To me, Test cricket is the ultimate, it's streets ahead of the other versions. One-day cricket and T20 cricket on a par at the moment for me. I still think it has got a huge future in the game.”
The all-rounder has so far played 55 ODIs and 36 T20s for Australia without being called-up to the Test team.
