Test cricket remains my ultimate priority, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eoin-Joseph-Gerard-Morgan-c56032 – Cricket News Update – Part Two
Continued from the previous part…
The stroke-maker started his career for his native country, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 in 2009 and has been a permanent member of their
limited-over setup since then.
A year later, the left-hander’s childhood dream came true, when he was given the Test cap against a visiting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 side. At times, the middle-order batsman has shown glimpses of brilliance but he has been generally a touch inconsistent
in Test cricket, quite contrary to his form in the sport’s shorter formats.
In the 16 Tests, 82 One Day Internationals (ODI) and 22 T20 Internationals Morgan has scored more than three and a half thousand runs in the global arena, with the help of six centuries. He is considered to be a batsman with immense
potential and the ability to thrash any bowling on his day. However, the left-hander needs to score runs more consistently to translate his skill into performance.
The middle-order batsman has made it clear that he is ready to compromise on his IPL contract if he is given a chance to revive his Test career.
"Is Test cricket my priority? Absolutely. I've never doubted that. If I'm involved in international cricket, it always takes priority and if I'm within one or two positions of the Test team, then I'll probably make the decision myself
to come back and play county cricket," the 25-year-old cricketer mentioned.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morgan-c77707 was a part of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 5, but quite surprisingly, he was not selected to play a single game in the tournament. The left-hander further added that he would not have gone on to play the cash-rich league if
he was not dropped from the Test team for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
“If I'm in the frame for a Test place, then things might have to change [regarding IPL availability], definitely. I looked into it a small bit this year but, because I was three or four places off the Test side I left it,” he added.
