  1. add HCl. precipitates of PbCl2 and ZnCl2 will form.

  2. Yes, add Iodine. This will form insoluble PbI yellow precipitate. To rule out lead over silver iodide, a solution of Ag and Pb in nitrate forms create yellow PbO when the solution is made alkaline

Do the zinc test. Place ten drops of test solution in a test tube. Add 4-5 drops of NaOH (1 M) (excess NaOH) to precipitate any cations taht might have been present to form Zn(OH)4 2-. Centrifuge and decant. Using HNO3, adjust the pH of the decant to 6 or 7. This destroys tetrahydroxozincate(II) ion and releases Zn2+. As the pH drops through 8, a Zn(OH)2 precipitate may be visible. Add 1 drop of NaOH. Formation of white precipitate Zn(OH)2 indicates presence of Zinc.

  3. test strips are available and easy, others are available but this is one example
