I have a learning disability in which i get 504 accomodations. i am current enrolled in AP Physics B, currently i am failing the class. I usually get A's and B's on the homework but I fail the test and quizzes. Usually this is because I forget the formulas even though i tried many ways to remember them. my teacher said i can only get a d in the class, but i dont want a d. what can i do to do better on the tests?

  1. What accomodations does your 504 plan cover? My fiancee has a learning disability and has a hard time remembering some details. At one point he was able to have a sheet with the formulas on it, as long as they were generic and did not tell what the different components stood for. It all depends on what the 504 says. In college, he has no accomodations or plan, so some tips he has used include tape recording lectures so he can listen to the information multiple times, finding mneumonic devices for remembering parts of formulas, color coding different formulas, and just doing lots of practice for each formula so it is more familiar to him. He also talks to his teacher at the beginning of each semester, so they are aware that he does has a learning disability and will have more difficulty with some types of work.

    Good Luck with Physics.
