Just to get me into the swing of things again. and I hope im wrong about this. from a spectators point of view.

We know Stoner gets out of the blocks and goes from the first second. he will be quick on the first day of testing. probably top dog. my question is "Can Rossi get to within half a second of stoners lap time in the first days sessions" I am going on the statement by Rossi last season saying the bridgestones are so quick early on. if the tyre is there can he get the set up quicker. I really hope so. but I doubt it. I think stoner will finish the first day at least a half second ahead of Rossi. the last day may be different . any speculations.

  1. rossi certainly has a point to prove but wether he shows it in testing remains to be seen i am of the opinion that he wont show his hand too early not for the threat of stoner but for the threat of honda, they will have been in as much pain as rossi seeing ducati win title

  2. Well I would actually think that Vale will try hard not to get within half a second of Caseys time to be honest. Vale is a master at not showing his hand during testing and he will be keen to keep as much under wraps as possible. Testing times are for nothing at the end of the day. I may well be wrong but that is my prediction.

  3. I think Rossi will triumph over Stoner, and then tyre as he rounds the last turn, exploding in a ball of flames like Dunkirk.

  4. Good question my good man.

My guess ( for all its worth ! ) will be that Casey will be hunting down Vale at Sepang.

Rossi is a Jedi when it comes to mind tricks, yes he s struggled with the young Skywalker ........ sorry Stoner, but Im sure he will be top dog at the end of the test.

Our good friend SWT also has a very valid point about race / test times. Look at Doohan. Never was a great tester but as a racer ......................

  5. Im with Dingo on this one. He will definately get close to Stoner on day 1, but not within half a second. Will will be right up there by Thursday.

Do you think his new hairdo is for aerodynamics - he'll definately need a smaller helmet after losing that mop :)

  6. testing and racing are two different things. During testing, the riders are finding the settings for the race, and not all riders test at race speeds.

Just wait till raceday. Being fast during preseason testing does not mean that one rider will do better in the series than another....

  7. Hey Proc

Since you want no coyness today I will say 'yes' he could get to within half a second, but 'no' he probably won't on the first day.

As Shuggy mentioned, he loves a mind game so why should he care?

    As for speculation wellllllllll,

Imagine the above space full of my febrile imagination today - gotta get on with my homework!!

    See ya
