Tetanus & A 3 in 1 Jab & side Effects ?

My Dad cut his hand yesterday on rusted tin & the hospital gave him a Tetanus,but the nurse said it was a 3 in 1 jab. Today he is suffering aches,pains etc as in flu like symptoms. What is the jab & is this natural side effects? Please

Probably what your dad had was DTaP, Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis shot.  It's a commom combination of a vaccination.  Symptoms or side-effects of these types of vaccinations include fever, redness, swelling and soreness at the injection site and flu-like symptoms.  These are common side-effects and should go away within the next 24-hours.  Have your dad take some Tylenol or Ibuprofen.  If symptoms get worse, such as a really high fever or seizures then get him to a doctor asap, but I doubt they will develop and your dad will be back to himself really soon.

WAY TO GO EMT...AWESOME ANSWER! JUST WANTED TO ADD THAT A TETANUS SHOT CAN CAUSE MUSCLE SORENESS IN THE INJECTION SITE FOR UP TO A WEEK,AND YES, THE FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS WILL GO AWAY WITHIN 24-48 HOURS.
