Texans RB Steve Slaton ?

i think he has amazing talent. just a little small for an average tailback. what do u think ? do u think he will ever start for the texans. i would rather have him then injury prone ahman green. cant wait to see what he does tonight agaisnt the cowboys

He's looked good in preseason against 2nd-3rd string guys but honestly i don't expect the success to carry over when the regular season comes around.

Remember this happens all the time guys look tend to look good during preseason games.. it isn't a fair evaluation to say how good or bad he's going to be just because of a couple preseason games... in fact, just because of one preseason game we'll see how he continues to do but I wouldn't give him that much praise. Hey maybe Brennan should start for the Redskins too.

You're right saying that he is a bit undersized, but he definetly makes up for it with his speed and agility. I think he will be starting by the end of the year because the Texans are looking more in the near future, in which Green will be retired or a non factor. Once he learns the system he is in.

you mean small like 5' 9" emmitt smith or 5' 8" barry sanders? they were small and they both had hall of fame careers.

p.s. i'm gonna watch that game too. i'm a huge WVU fan and i can't wait to see slaton in action as a pro.

i think he's gonna start week 1 but with that o-line i doubt he's gonna have a great season but he will have a good season.

Yea you're right he does have great potential but I'm sure the fight for the starting job in training camp is hard since his competition is Green

But if he shows Green up one day in practice he will probably get the start, every starter is week by week if you do well in practice one week then you will be starting that week and if you do bad in practice then you'll probably benched for the game, so it's all up to Slaton to show the coaches what he's got

Being a WVU fan and following this guy he trully is an amazing young man. Will he start this year remains to be seen.He was only a 3 star recruit coming out of highschool and Maryland was the program he wanted so badly to play for. Maryland simply didnt have the room to fit him in , and then RRod offered the scolarship to WV and the rest is history.

If he keeps that stay humble but be hungry attitude up that RRod preaches during his years at WV he could rise as a star in the NFL

. He needs some good coaching from his postion coach to achieve that level,but his potential is their. Two good qualities he does

have going for him

1) reads blocks very well, this guy is amazing at this which leads to his second quality

2) the ability to find the end zone. 55 tds at WV .

He might not have LT speed or instincts, who does?, but he does posses the same other two qualities that LT does have, reads blocks, and a nose for that endzone

I hope he has a solid career in Houston he's  a good kid , truly is.

Most Houstons fans will learn to enjoy watching this kid play as we did in Morgantown.

I think he will start this year. He is a really special talent and a steal in the draft. i think he will start as soon as ahman green gets injured. and boy is he quick.

Hopefully he lights up the cowboys tonight just like my broncos did last week
