Texans’ punter Brett Hartmann placed on injured reserve list – NFL News
The Houston Texans are going to play the Cincinnati Bengals into week 14 with another setback on their injuries scares this season as their punter number two Brett Hartmann has been declared unfit to be available for their Sunday’s
game.
Injuries have already ruled out Texans quarterbacks Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart for rest of current National Football League (NFL) season while their wide receiver Andre Johnson remained questionable.
Brett Hartmann, the latest player to fall prey to injuries, had torn down his anterior cruciate ligament late in their game against the visiting Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. The Texans won that game 17-10.
Hartmann was earlier expected to be back for their next. He however has been ruled out now, not only for this game but possibly for the rest of current season.
The team management said that they had put the player on the injured reserve list hinting that his return is unlikely for the remaining part of this season.
Hartmann was their punter number two. The team management has already started looking for his replacement. Texans coach Gary Kubiak said that they were going to sign another punter after their tryouts later this week.
The Texans have already signed three quarterbacks, Kellen Clemens, Jake Delhomme and Jeff Garcia over past three years. They also released one of them, Kellen Clemens only a week after his signing.
The side still seems unsettled from the season-ending injuries to their quarterbacks Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart. Both of them are out nursing their foot and collarbone injuries, respectively.
Despite their injuries vows the Texans have surprisingly performed well in the league, recording sixth consecutive wins in a row. This includes their last win over the Falcons when they played without their key starters for the
first time.
The side 9-3 in the American Football Conference (AFC) south division stands good chances to win the division. A victory over the Cleveland Browns will make them achieve the feat. They however will closely be watching next game
of their close rivals Tennessee Titans.
The Cincinnati Bengals 7-5 in AFC north have already lost the playoffs race to Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens.
