Texans reports injuries to more players before Colts game – NFL News
The Houston Texans have continued to suffering the problem of injuries to their number of players into Week 16 of the National Football League (NFL).
It is almost the forth consecutive week that the Texans are reporting to have ruled out more players due to their respective injuries. It also is heartening to note that the side has still managed to claim the American Football
Conference (AFC) south title and a playoff berth with a score of 10-4 in the league.
The side announced on Thursday to have placed their tight end Owen Daniels as questionable. He is out with a knee injury.
"His knee’s very sore today," coach Gary Kubiak said Tuesday, according to the team's official site. "It has been sore, and we’ll see where we’re at. We’re actually going to practice a little bit in the morning before we leave,
so if he’s able to go in the morning, his chances will be much better, but we’ll see.”
The latest injury news has come a day after the team management confirmed to be without their wide receiver Andre Johnson in their next game against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night.
Andre Johnson suffered a hamstring injury about three weeks ago and has missed two games straight. This will be his third consecutive miss. Johnson has missed six consecutive games due to a hamstring injury earlier in the season.
The Texans further said that their starting defensive tackle Shaun Cody was also left as questionable due to knee injury. He most probably will miss their game against the Colts.
The team is already without their two quarterbacks, Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart. Both the players have been ruled out for rest of this NFL season due to foot and collarbone injuries, respectively.
The latest injuries scares however might not affect the side as much, as they have already claimed the AFC south title and secured a berth into playoff. They are probably the only side to have successfully survived through the
injury problems.
As a result of the injuries the Texans have reshuffled their key positions with new signees and release of some of the players.
They elevated their fifth round pick Taylor Jonathan Yates at the number spot at the quarterback position. The rookie has started at the position in their last two games. The side has also been hiring new players almost every week
fill the gaps created by departure of injured players.
