Texans’ wide receiver Andre Johnson to miss game against Cincinnati Bengals – NFL News
A day after the Houston Texans said that they had left their wide receiver Andre Johnson for a game-call for his participation in their tie against the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday they confirmed that he was definitely out for
the game.
The player suffering from a hamstring injury had not taken part in any of their practice sessions this week and Texans coach Gary Kubiak had said on Friday (December 09) that he would be a game-time decision to play.
He however confirmed on Saturday that Johnson will be sitting on the side line for sure during their game against the Bengals tomorrow (December 11).
Johnson had suffered the injury in Texans game against Atlanta Falcons last Sunday which they won 17-10. He has suffered this injury for the second time this season.
This could have been Johnson's second game after he had missed straight six games earlier this season due to a hamstring injury.
"It's very disappointing," Johnson said. "You work your butt off to get back after missing six games and then to have something like this to happen again is very frustrating. But at the same time, the team's in a great position.
I'm just trying to do everything I can to get back, so that I can get back out on the field and play."
Besides Johnson Texans rookie starter T.J.Yates must be very disappointed with the news as the youngster had been relying on him for a great support in his plays.
Johnson also refrained from commenting on his chances of participation in Texans’ game against Carolina on December 18.
This is another bad news for the injuries-riddled Texans side. Their two key quarterbacks Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart have already been ruled out of current season of National Football League due to foot and collarbone injuries
respectively.
The timing of the news is not good either for Texans, as they stand chances of winning the American Football Conference (AFC) south division title with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Texans 9-3 in AFC south have already won
six games in a row and a possible win this weekend will be their seventh straight, a franchise record.
