Texas General Manager optimistic about the Rangers future
The Texas Rangers have lost the World Series for the second year in a row and their latest defeat comes from a Game 7 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals at the Busch Stadium in St. Louis. The club players may be reeling from the defeat but the management seems
optimistic in the club’s role in the upcoming season. As offseason looms over, General Manager (GM) of the club, Jon Daniels, spoke to the press from the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on Saturday, October 29, claiming a return to normalcy in the next few weeks
for the stars.
The Rangers were 3 – 2 after Game 5 in the World Series and they lost the next two games to lose their title bid. However Daniels says that it will make little difference to the mentality of the team as it will be back to doing what it does best: playing
baseball on the field.
The manager stressed that the club is built to support a long lasting vision and the squad will be back in the limelight in 2012.
"Most of the club is going to be back," general manager Jon Daniels said. "We have a lot of guys in their primes, and the pipeline's full. We talked all postseason about the work of our organization -- big league staff, Minor League staff, scouts. We've
got a running start, so to speak. But there's always a lot of work to be done, and we have to start looking at that."
The Rangers have been a leading force under the managerial guidance of Ron Washington and Daniels is looking to back the skipper up in anyway he may see fit, in the coming days.
"This club is unbelievably resilient, unbelievably mentally strong top to bottom, No. 1 through 25, and [manager Ron Washington], obviously that's where it comes from," Daniels said.
The GM went on to say that there will surely be no regrets in 2012 when the club goes back to the regular league season. He mentioned a question from a reporter during the Spring Training campaign which dealt with the same topic. He emphatically highlighted
this year’s performance, citing no hangover from the previous World Series defeat.
