What would happen if I had 3-7 and the other player had K-5 and the board showed 9-4-4-9-Q? Who would win and why? Would they split the pot or would the other player win with two pair and a high card of King?

  1. the other guy would win because he would have 2 pair 9 and 4 with a king high kicker. you would only have a queen high kicker

  2. ya, your opponent would win because of his King kicker! If he had a queen instead of a king, THEN it would be a split pot.

  3. The person with the highest kicker (i.e. the guy with the king) you end up with a Q-4-4-9-9 he ends up with a K-4-4-9-9, his kicker beats your kickers butt. if he had a J-5 to start out then you would split the pot because the cards on the table are the best 5 card hand.
