Texas Rangers' manager Ron Washington content with team’s display on the field
Texas Rangers' manager has a lot to be happy about these days. His team beat the Cleveland Indians 9-1 on Wednesday, September 14 at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The hitting line up of the club is proving to be a menacing force in the American League.
The skipper is happy to see everyone batting to his best form.
"Up and down the line - up, we're getting it done," Washington said. "Everybody is doing their part. The substitutes are doing their part, the regulars are doing their part, and it couldn't happen at a better time of the year."
The Rangers recently put on eight runs in a single inning against the Indians’ starter, David Huff. Josh Hamilton packed the crowd with a blitzing grand slam in the same inning. The club is looking strong in the American League West and they have a very
good chance to beat the Los Angeles Angels to the playoffs this season. They will be hoping to make it to the World Series again.
Without the likes of Cliff Lee and Vladimir Guererro, many fans thought the team will be suffering but a few promotions and transfers have rendered the club an ultimate predator in the Western region. Adrian Beltre is looking strong while Alexi Ogando, Matt
Harrison and Derek Holland have been pitching very well.
Mike Napoli is another star in the team who is sharing his spot as a catcher with another new signing from last season, Yorvit Torrealba. The former Los Angeles Angels star is currently on a career high, 26 home-runs, this season and his batting average
is on .310. That figure is the highest feat in his career.
"It's obvious the numbers he's putting up," Washington said. "He certainly can't run and he's hitting .300, so that tells you he's swinging the bat well. He's not missing mistakes. Maybe he got rejuvenated coming over here. We're happy to have him, and he's
certainly producing for us."
Ron Washington is proud to be amongst players of such ferocity. If the Rangers keep hitting the ball like this, they may well be in the World Series again.
