Texas Rangers’ Brandon Webb improves his pitching

The Texas Rangers are currently second in the American West division and their move to the first position on the table may not come soon if they tend to lose most of their series to travelling rivals.
The club always was under the thumb when it came out of the Spring Training with backup pitchers. With the likes of Brandon Webb on the sidelines, nothing solid can be said of the rotation.
The ace, who came into the squad as a direct replacement for Cliff Lee has yet to pitch in a Major League Baseball outing. The star was the 2006 National League Cy Young award winner.
However, his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks came to an abrupt end when he walked off the mound in 2009 due to a shoulder injury.
Since his first game in 2009, the hurler has not been able to play on the field. He was scheduled to start off the season but was sidelined due to a loss in velocity. Now with a May deadline for recovery, the pitcher is looking good.
He was recently involved in a bullpen session that involved live hitters. He presented a strong case for himself in the line up as he pitched 60 good deliveries.
He took a two minute break before his last twenty pitches and that seemed to take most of the attention, as the hurler threw in 20 good balls.
"It was OK", Webb said. "I wouldn't say it was unbelievable, but definitely better than last time".
The player is on the verge of going into an extended spring training program in Arizona. He is currently struggling with command and is on the range of reaching the right speed.
"I thought it was better than the last time out there", Rangers manager, Ron Washington said. "He made some good pitches with his breaking ball and with his changeup. He's still searching for consistency. He'll throw one there and then two or three won't be there. But I saw a freeness. I saw the ball come out of his hand better. He had some good sink".
With a little bit more time, Webb can surely knock the rust off and be ready for the main challenge ahead.
