Texas Rangers’ C. J. Wilson looking to rebound from bad start in Post-Season – MLB Playoffs
The Texas Rangers may be in the American League Championship Series but they need a good start from their ace pitcher C. J. Wilson to put them in the driving seat. The hurler will go up against the Detroit Tigers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and he will
face a 24-game winning Justin Verlander in Game 1.
The prime striker of the ball talked to the press on Thursday, October 6.
Wilson is known to have a bad time in the post-season and this time around, he did not have the best of starts. The hurler went up against the Tampa Bay Rays in the Game 1 of the American League Division Series and lost the bout with a poor display on the
mound. The pitcher is now trying to rebound and thinks he can do his best after a good resting period.
Wilson was 16-7 in the regular season and he possessed an earned run average of just 2.94. Ranked fourth in the league, in terms of wins and sixth in the league, in terms of strike-outs, the ball thrower went to the Rays game to pitch five innings. In his
time on the mound, he conceded eight runs off seven hits as the club lost the game 0 – 9.
"That particular game was my first bad game I had in a while," Wilson said. "I had a lot of really good games leading up to the playoffs. I'm looking at it, things even out. You're going to hit a bump in the road. I had it happen on national TV. It was unfortunate."
The biggest note made in the night was that the player conceded more than two home-runs to the hitters for the second time in his career. He gave up one to Johnny Damon and two to Kelly Shoppach.
"Anytime you give up two or three homers in a game, especially if it's two to the same guy, it's bad," Wilson said.
The player now believes he can go back on top. The only problem is that the Rangers cannot afford to lose a game.
