Texas Rangers’ Christopher John Wilson talks about his recent form in Major League Baseball
Two top pitchers in the Texas Rangers have not been performing at their best and one of them happens to be Christopher John Wilson. The former reliever has been deemed the best hurler in the club and his position on top of the rotation signifies his importance
to the Rangers in the American League West.
Cropping up nine wins from 12 games, the Rangers will be facing the New York Yankees on Friday at Yankees stadium. While Wilson will not be starting against the rivals from the 2010 American League Championship, he will be ready to take on the Los Angeles
Angels on Monday. The player was recently at the Major League Baseball Fan Cave to promote the club and this opportunity called for a lot of questions to be asked from the pitcher.
The ball thrower has been pitching weak so far in the season and the supporters seem concerned over his recent form. The ace has started three games so far and he has thrown in a total of 19.1 innings. Unfortunately, he has been unable to keep the hits allowance
down as that figure has gone up to 19. With seven balls and 11 runs on the concession rate, his Earned Run Average has crept up to 3.72.
While maintaining a good strike-out tally, Wilson has struggled due to a hamstring problem contracted from Spring Training. Fortunately, he talked about it on Thursday at the Fan Cave.
"The hamstring thing prevented me from really going through the full program toward the end of Spring Training," Wilson said. "It was kind of difficult to maintain my cardio shape and strength. I'm trying to just get a feel for how to increase stuff without
going backwards at this point. I feel pretty good, overall. It's still really early in the season, and hopefully I can get back to full strength as soon as possible."
The Rangers and manager Ron Washington will be hoping to see the starter back on his feet as expectations are high for the pitcher to deliver the wins.
