Texas Rangers’ Ian Kinsler on top of his health and fitness – MLB News
The Texas Rangers’ second baseman Ian Kinsler, who is fighting ankle injury for two years, asserts he is at the best of his health since 2010. It was in the same year that he rolled his right ankle that until last year continued to impact the player.
Kinsler whose regular fixture in the team has always been a treat to watch seems to have suffered enormously due to the injury. A profoundly painful separation of the ligament from the bone was performed last year when the World Series came to end with a
platelet-rich plasma treatment.
However, all this has not discouraged the player and cannot prevent him from showing the quality and talent he has as a player. With 30 stolen bases and 32 home-runs, Kinsler remained fifth and seventh consecutively in both homers and stolen bases.
The player had 155 games to play as a whole, scoring 121 runs which was second best in the American League, having had 89 BB which was fifth best with a .255 average that he has in 620 at-bats with 158 hits in total.
"I'm able to work out and do everything I want to do with nothing holding me back," Kinsler said. "It's always been something for me. I'm actually having fun training. I'm 100 percent. It's the first time I can say that in a long time."
He also spoke about stealing bases. What is clear is that the player is doing great now, which will be a difficult challenge for the rival teams.
"I learned how to cheat stealing bases," Kinsler said. "Picking up small things and figuring out how to steal a base. How to get the best possible jump you can. "It took power away from me," Kinsler said. "I didn't feel as powerful as I have in the past.”
With six seasons that he has played, Kinsler is showing keen interest in a long term deal with the Texas Rangers. As things progress, it seems the Rangers are all willing to go ahead with talks over the prospect of any new deal with him.
