Texas Rangers’ Matt Harrison envisages a stronger team – MLB News
The Texas Rangers starter Matt Harrison commented on Thursday, January 26, that his team will be stronger this season with the kind of pitching line-up they have. His statement was in reference to depth the Rangers have put in the rotation with the likes
of Yu Darvish.
With Yu Darvish in the team, Neftali Feliz will be another source of strength for the Rangers coupled with the fact that they have got some of the best hitters to solidify the offence. Alexi Ogando also falls in the category of well-built and strong pitchers.
"It seems like we're going to be a stronger team," Harrison said at the Rangers' winter caravan stop in Sherman on Thursday. "Darvish put up good numbers over there in Japan. It will be interesting to see how he does over here, but those are good numbers
anywhere. He'll fit right in. Plus, we're putting Neftali in the rotation and I'm sure he'll so a good job, same as Ogando did last year.”
Matt Harrison himself has remained instrumental in guiding the Texas Rangers to several victories. Having had 31 game appearances the last season, he started 30 of the games, maintaining an ERA of 3.39. The starter brought about 14 exclusive wins for the
team with 1.28 WHIP.
While the young and energetic player seems to be especially made for pitching, the 26-year-old regularly contributes to the team’s strengthening further. As the Rangers expand the horizon for the pitchers, he knows what challenges lie ahead for him now.
As far as I know, I'm going into Spring Training with one of those spots in the rotation,” said Harrison, who was 14-9 with a 3.39 ERA last season.
Rangers seem characterised by determination this time round that they will win the World Series. A strong defensive combination uniquely places them in a favourable situation. From Alexi Ogando to C. J. Wilson and Yu Darvish to Derek Holland, everyone in
the line-up including the young Harrison, the Rangers seem very strong defensively to be easily beaten in the coming season.
