Texas Rangers: Regular season results – MLB April 2011
After having some decent performances in the spring season of 2011, the Rangers were hoping for a strong run in the regular season as well. Team manager, Ron Washington was hopeful of getting the best out of his team. David Murphy helped his side pull off
an incredible victory against Boston Red Sox as Texas Rangers got off to a dream start in the regular season.
The Rangers must have taken a lot of confidence from their win over Boston in first game of a three match series as they were absolutely unstoppable in the second and third games. The Rangers made history by completing a sweep of the Red Sox, which was considered
to be one of the strongest sides in the league. Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz displayed some high class batting throughout the series.
"I guess they were trying to take the best bat we had out of his hand," Texas manager Ron Washington said. "We are going to see that a lot. ... But we knew the kids were going to be able to produce some runs. That's what he brings to our lineup."
Texas Rangers were excellent in their next series against the Seattle Mariners as well. Although they had a tough time against the Mariners in the spring season, they seemed to be playing at an entirely new level in a three game series in the regular season.
Demolishing the Mariners in each game, the Rangers earned the reputation of being the hottest team in baseball.
Experiencing their first loss of the season, the Rangers looked completely out of sorts in the first game of a four match series against the Baltimore Orioles. However, they bounced back brilliantly by securing a comfortable 13-2 victory in their next clash
against the Orioles. The Rangers finished the series strongly with another impressive 3-0 victory.
"We can play whatever the game asks us to play. That's what we play," manager Ron Washington said. "We do have guys up and down the lineup that can punch the ball out of the ballpark. It happened today and it worked for us."
After making an incredible start in the regular season, the Rangers lost their way a bit in a three match series against the Detroit Tigers. Despite clinching a narrow 2-0 victory in game 1, the Rangers were unable to finish on the winning side, losing the
next two games.
However, the month of April turned out to be quite a productive one for the Rangers as they finished with a 16-11 win-loss record. The Rangers managed to dominate the beginning part of the regular season. Ron Washington aimed to give even better results
in their upcoming matches.
