Texas Rangers: Regular season results – MLB June 2011
Texas Rangers seemed to be improving their game play with every passing outing in the regular season. Although they fell short of their targets in the previous month, they had an absolutely great start to June 2011, claiming five consecutive victories. On
June 1, they thrashed the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 to complete a much needed series victory.
Continuing their impressive form in their next four match series against Cleveland Indians as well, emerging victorious in each encounter. It will not be wrong to say that everybody pitched in for the surging Texas Rangers. The batters also did a pretty
decent job throughout the season.
Mitch Moreland and Elvis Andrus homered as the American League West leading team completed a thumping 4-0 series victory. With the win, the Rangers won for the eighth time in nine games, which was an astonishing achievement considering the failures they
had to face in the previous month.
"What, are we going to suddenly become road warriors?" Washington said. "I want to be a warrior period, on the road or at home. We're really playing good baseball."
Rangers were hoping to continue their successful run in the series against Detroit Tigers as well. But the hottest AL Central team made them pay heavily for their unforced errors throughout to win the series 2-1. Rangers lost both games in a humiliating
fashion. However, in game three they did manage to salvage some of their lost pride, thanks to Alexi Ogando.
Looking to gain some sort of momentum, the Rangers put a decent show in game two of their four match series against the Minnesota Twins. Michael Young displayed some high quality baseball as he had three RBIs on three hits to help his side secure a much
needed victory. However, they failed to produce considerable performances in the following two games to let the opposition take a 3-1 series victory.
Rangers were absolutely humiliated in a three match series against the New York Yankees. Losing all three games, they were unable to execute their game plan. Yankees took complete advantage of their mistakes to complete a deserving series sweep. Earning
a hard fought 5-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves in game two, the Rangers finally managed to bring things back on track.
The Rangers won four times in six games against the Houston Astros to end the month on a positive note. Team manager, Ron Washington was pretty pleased with the way his team responded to difficult situation during the 30-day period and he aimed to maintain
the current level of play throughout the regular season. The Rangers were looking strong and had some winning momentum on their side.
