Texas Rangers’ Ron Washington pleased with team’s success – MLB Update

Texas Rangers’ manager Ron Washington expressed immense satisfaction on his team’s qualification to the World Series for the second year running, but was quick to add that a lot needs to be done in order to avoid last year’s outcome.
Last year, the Rangers lost to San Francisco Giants in the World Series after they had won their first pennant. This year, Washington aims at winning the title to officially stamp authority on the circuit.
Expressing his views after the game, Washington admitted that it was tough to overcome the Detroit Tigers, but the team showed immense unity to curb obstacles. Acknowledging Jim Leyland’s experience and his team, Washington asserted that it was unfortunate
that the Tigers lost. Nevertheless, he congratulated Leyland for his effort and wished him luck for an improved result next season.
Washington was satisfied on defending the American League Championship and attributed this success to the players and management alike. Clarifying his statement, the manager voiced that there is a lot of hard-work behind the scenes and that the on-field
performance is just one aspect of it.
In context of this game, Washington stated that he was highly impressed by the way his starter Derek Holland controlled the flow of runs after having been slammed for two home-runs in the first two innings.
Articulating his plan for the World Series, Washington stated that the team is confident of prevailing in the seven-game fiesta after losing as early as Game 5 last year. He pronounced that the team made a commitment to play again in November and has lived
to it. The versatility in the ballclub cannot be challenged and every player contributes to the team’s success.
Not forgetting to show gratitude to the fans, Washington said, “Our fans supported us all year. It's nice to see all that red in the stands. And we had one of the worst summers in Texas history, I would imagine. I've only been here five years, but all the
years I came here as a player and as a coach. I've never experienced that type of heat before.”
For a team of Rangers’ calibre, dropping two in two does not seem to be a viable option. If craving is to be taken as the criteria for success, the Rangers are surely in with a chance.
