Texas Rangers’ Scott Feldman, the unsung hero of Game 2 in ALCS – MLB Playoffs
Scott Feldman put in a truly amazing pitching performance on Monday, October 10 as the Texas Rangers beat the Detroit Tigers 7-3 in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
Feldman was a starter for the Rangers between 2008 and 2010. He was sidelined due to a micro fracture surgery on his knee. He returned in July, this year, but was assigned to the Minor League. He started two games for the Rangers in the Major Leagues and
picked up a 2-1 standing from 11 games, this season.
The reliever worked well against the Rays in the Division Series as he allowed just two hits from three innings. He carried his earned run average of zero through Game 2 of the Championship Series as he replaced Derek Holland and pitched 4.1 innings, not
allowing any runs off one hit.
At the end of the day, the hurler was good to be back in the fold.
"It's great. Everybody wants to be in this situation," Feldman said. "Luckily today, we came out on top. I think mainly, the No. 1 thing is we've just got a great group of guys here, and for me, I can honestly say that was probably the coolest game I've
ever been a part of. When I got done even watching that game, I thought my beard was going to turn gray."
The player is looking for a regular role in the next few games and he is going to be another secret weapon that manager Ron Washington can turn to in the hour of need.
With Feldman back in the loop, the Rangers are looking like a stronger side than ever. Texas will be looking to continue with their winning momentum and dominate the Tigers in this exciting Series. Detroit will be disappointed with their previous efforts
as they have allowed the Rangers to come out aggressively and control the game.
It will be interesting to see how the Rangers manage to mix things up and keep their pitching effective against the strong Tigers team.
