Texas Rangers beat Seattle Mariners to move to six wins as Baltimore Orioles wait at Camden Yards
The Texas Rangers came up with an all important win over the Seattle Mariners recently, as they moved to a perfect tally of six victories in six games. The club that handed the Boston Red Sox a clean sweep defeat, this season, moved to a stunning record on the table as they carried their 2010 form to the new Major League Baseball season. Now with their stint over at the Rangers Ballpark, they will heads to Camden Yards to face the Baltimore Orioles.
The O’s got off to an amazing start in the season. Apart from the defeat today, the club has a wins to losses tally of 5 – 1. That is something Rangers manager, Ron Washington, will be keen to pay a lot of attention to, when his team faces off against the American League East club on Friday.
The 2010 American League West division champions got off to a flying start, with a batting prowess that is difficult to match by most teams in the league. Their pitching rotation is looking good as well, and as Michael Young recently indicated, strong defense, and good pitching is what got the club its victories.
"Everybody's talking about homers, but pitching and defense got us where we needed to be, got us six big wins," designated hitter Young said.
Second Baseman, Ian Kinsler, is on three home runs from six games and is keen to get more this season. Nevertheless, he has not looked away from the current form. Even if the O’s are up next, the current team standing is what sufficiently matters.
"That's it. 6-0," Kinsler said. "There's nothing really else to say."
The Rangers know this is a good form to head to Camden Yards with, and this situation would not be present if the club had not gone to the World Series, last year.
"It's definitely confidence," Kinsler said. "We proved to ourselves last year what type of team we are and what type of players we are. We gained experience and we gained confidence, so we should be better. We feel like we're a better team, and we're just going to try and prove ourselves."
The question to ask would be if the Rangers can beat the Orioles perfectly in their series at Camden Yards? If that happens, they will equal the best start by the Orioles in any year.
