Texas Rangers crush Toronto Blue Jays 14-3 – MLB Recap
The Texas Rangers crushed the Toronto Blue Jays 14-3 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Friday, May 25 at Rangers Ball Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season and took a strong early lead in the series.
Right Fielder Nelson Cruz proved a key winning factor for the Rangers who added eight important RBIs and provided his team a superb win in their home field.
"You dream to have those kinds of days," said Cruz, who also had an RBI single in the sixth and went 4-for-5. "It can't happen every day. When it happens, you should be happy and enjoy it."
"Some guys work hard to get to get that many RBIs in one month," Texas manager Ron Washington said. "(Cruz) did it one night. That's what he's capable of doing."
The Rangers who came into this game with huge spirit took the game away in style after posting 14 runs on the board.
They played a combined game and never allowed their opponents to play easy at any point of the game.
Taking six runs’ advantage in the very first inning, the Rangers, in the later eight innings just kept their cool and eventually won the game.
On the other hand, the Blue Jays seemed out of composure as they could not find any right areas to score. They were all outplayed by the Rangers pitchers.
Though in the sixth and eighth innings, the Blue Jays showed some resistance scoring just three runs, overall they were just handcuffed by the Rangers’ pitchers who slowly, but masterfully crushed their opponents.
In the meanwhile, this win has given the Rangers a chance to go into the mid-season break as Division leaders. Currently they are holding the top spot in the American League West with .609 winning percentage along with 28-18 win loss record.
On the other hand, the Blue Jays have a fair chance to comeback in the series as well as in the competition. They at the moment at fourth position in the American League East with .522 winning percentage along with 24-22 win loss record.
