Texas Rangers dominate as they defeat Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4 – MLB Spring Season Review
The Texas Rangers put in a tremendous performance as they made four runs off Juan Gutierrez in the ninth to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4 in their Cactus League encounter on Monday, March 28 at Salt River Fields in Arizona.
Diamondbacks’ Daniel Hudson struck-out four and did not allow any runs in just over four innings that he pitched. However, it was the relief pitcher Juan Gutierrez which took the brunt of abuse from the Rangers as they managed to get four runs off him in
the ninth inning to grab an impressive victory.
After the game, Hudson expressed his feelings and said, “I had a couple of rough ones in a row, so it felt good to have a good outing like that to end the spring and get going into the regular season. Everybody has those outings every once in a while. I
just go on to the next one.”
The Rangers once again showed the rest of the league why they are the team to beat this year, as they have been putting up good performances consistently throughout the spring session.
Gutierrez had a miserable performance as he went for five hits and he allowed four runs in one inning. This basically handed the game over to the Rangers. His poor pitching performance was a disappointment for the Diamondbacks, who are struggling during
the spring session. They will be looking for an improved performance before the regular season begins.
Texas’ starter Matt Harrison gave up a two run homer to Russell Branyan. He managed to get in a superb hit, however it just was not enough as the Rangers were just too strong on the day as they dominated the game.
The Diamondbacks will be disappointed as they have one of the worst records in Spring Training. It will be an uphill task for them to get things together as the regular season is a few days away. Although the team is packed with talent, the Diamondbacks
just cannot work together as a team and they seem to be struggling with their batting and pitching line-ups. The team will be looking to improve quickly if they are to have any sort of chance of competing during the tough regular season.
The Rangers have put in another good performance and have showed their ability to fight down to the wire and pull out a win in the closing moments of the game. Most teams have taken notice of the brilliant performance of the Rangers during the spring session.
They look to be in a commanding position as they will most probably dominate the regular season.
