Texas Rangers edge Kansas City Royals 7-6 – MLB Recap
The Texas Rangers edge past the Kansas City Royals 7-6 in the third game of their four-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, September 5 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
"Those guys aren't worrying about that, If we take care of our business, it doesn't matter what they do," Rangers' manager Ron Washington said on his team’s performance and explained in detail about all the aspects which provided a decent win to his team.
Rangers' hitters and pitchers played beautifully and earned a great victory for their team.
Starter Ryan Dempster pitched six innings and received two runs and four hits. He retired eight Royals’ batters and proved one of the winning factors for the Rangers. He pitched quite accurately and maintained his ERA at 4.36.
"You know, I was in a situation where I was pitching for pride, Now I'm just trying to do my best every fifth day," said Dempster on his personal performance and told the media with confidence regarding all the aspects of his team’s victory.
Relief pitcher Alexi Ogando also did well on the mound as he pitched one inning and received two runs and one hit while maintaining his ERA at 3.04.
Closer Mike Adams pitched one inning and received one hit and one run. Though he could not strike-out any batter but still he managed to maintain his ERA at 2.74
Royals’ starter Everett Teaford pitched 4.1 innings and received three runs and three hits on his 4.45 ERA. He received one homer and lost the game for the Royals.
"I saw his charts yesterday and the whole chart was like, red against lefties. It's basically a heat map. Red would describe Kansas City in July, that kind of hot, If you make a bad pitch, he hits it real well. He's tough. You've just got to hope to make good pitches," Teaford said.
Relief pitcher Vin Mazzaro also did not perform well and lost the game for the Royals. He pitched two innings and received three runs and three hits along with a homer.
The Rangers will be happy with their performance as they managed to squeak a decent victory over the Royals.
