Texas Rangers edge past Tampa Bay Rays 6-1 – MLB Recap
Texas Rangers edge past the Tampa Bat Rays 6-1 on Tuesday, April 09 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Arlington, Texas in the second game of their three-match series in 2013 Major League Baseball season.
Rangers’ entire roster played wonderfully and showed their true offensive game. They played as one unit and never allowed the Rays to take any advantage. They showed them the real class and eventually won the game with quite ease.
“Big league debuts can usually go one of two ways. They can either go really well or go really bad," Rangers catcher A.J. Pierzynski said. "Once he got out of the second and third innings, you could see it kind of relaxed him and we got him a lead and he
really settled in and did a great job."
Rangers’ upfront hitters and pitchers played according to the plan and won the game with quite ease. The Rays on the other hand, could play their natural game and lost the very important second game of the series.
"I should have picked it up and thrown it to first, but the way it spun I for some reason thought it might go foul," Nick Tepesch said. "Just kind of a bad decision, to be honest with you."
Rays’ hitters and pitchers were too ordinary against the Rangers offensive roster. Only centre fielder Desmond Jennings looked in form as he scored one and only run from the Rays on his four at bats and on his consistent .393 slugging percentage.
The Tampa Bay Rays’ pitchers really played ordinary and allowed too much runs which at the same time were enough for the Rangers to seal the game with quite ease.
Roberto Hernandez started the game for the Tampa Bay and allowed eight runs and six hits and gave five earned runs on 6.08 ERA.
On the other hand, the Texas Rangers starter Nick Tepesch was exceptional on the mound as he pitched 7.1 innings and allowed one run on consistent 1.23. His performance was so subtle that the Rangers easily won the game against the Tampa Bay Rays’ heavy
hitters.
