Texas Rangers express interest in free agent Hiroki Kuroda – MLB News
The Texas Rangers are now taking some drastic steps forward to rebuild the team for the next Major League Baseball season. As sources are speculating in the media that the Rangers are now getting serious to acquire the Japanese star and MLB free agent Hiroki
Kuroda in order to strengthen their current roster.
Along with many MLB teams, the Rangers want Kuroda for a more consistent performance next season especially down the stretch in the post-season. Hiroki, a native from Osaka, Japan has played with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season and had 3.07 along with
13-16 win loss record, 161 strike-outs and 1.21 WHIP. He has some extraordinary baseball skills and that is the main reason why every top MLB team is pursuing him hard.
Earlier some other MLB teams have also officially stated that they want Hiroki but his agent is asking too much money. That is also the main reason why the Boston Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington backed out stating Hiroki’s demands are too high to
fulfill.
Cherington said, “I think that the starters that we’ve considered and talked about, and in some cases pursued, are a pretty broad range of pitching options. We’ve just felt, to this point, that the deals that we liked the best on the trade front were the
[Mark] Melancon deal and now this deal. We’re going to continue to work.”
However, the Rangers might go for Hiroki’s free agency having a more stable financial position than anybody else among the other MLB teams. They have earned some extra millions this past season only for the reason that their team qualified for the World
Series matchup against the the St. Louis Cardinals.
Experts believe, if Hiroki Kuroda does make a potential arrival in the Rangers roster next season, than it is likely that the Texas based baseball team can repeat their fine display of post-season results once again with full energy.
It will be interesting to see if the Rangers manage to acquire Kuroda for the upcoming 2012 MLB regular season and what type of impact he will have in their performance.
