Texas Rangers focused on Game 3 of American League Division Series against Tampa Bay Rays
The Texas Rangers would have loved to be 2-0 in the lead, going to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg for the concluding American League Division Series games against the Tampa Bay Rays.
However that does not change the fact they are tied at 1-1 with the Wild-Card berth club. Two representatives of the Rangers had the opportunity to talk about Game 3 of the series in Tampa Bay on Sunday, October 2.
Rangers were able to claw their way out of a deficit in the fourth inning of the second game in the series on Saturday to win the final game in Arlington. They will now face David Price, who is considered the Rays’ official first class pitcher. The Texans
believe they can get the necessary winner on Monday, October 3 against the Rays.
Michael Young, designated hitter and utility fielder for the Rangers, has been on fire in the regular season this year and if Miguel Cabrera was not doing well for the Detroit Tigers, he will be surely picking up the batting title this season. His .338 hitting
average and his 106 RBIs offers a great detail of batting prowess the Rangers possess.
Similarly, David Murphy is another star in the line-up that can go head-to-head with any pitcher if he is called to the plate to do so. The out-fielder has a hitting average of .275 and 11 home-runs to his name.
"We believe we can win on any given day, and it doesn't matter where we are at," Michael Young said. "We believe in ourselves as players."
"I think they are completely different years," David Murphy said. "Most of the players on the team are the same, but you start over with a new year. We're thinking about how we can beat David Price."
Price was 12-13 this year and the one thing the Rangers will be looking to do on Monday is enhance his overall season earned run average beyond the current 3.49 mark. The Rangers are playing brilliantly in the playoffs, as they look to carry their winning
momentum into Game 3 against the Rays.
