Texas Rangers looking for bullpen improvements – MLB Update
The Texas Rangers know that this season they might need extra improvements in their bullpen. The starting line-up is fine but almost their entire roster of relievers needs some more potential fire power in the bullpen.
“The bullpen is an area we’d like to improve,” special assistant to general manager Jon Daniels said for his team’s latest aspirations. “We just need to give it a chance to improve internally first.”
He continued by saying, “Roles have yet to be determined in front of Joe [Nathan]. I don’t necessarily thing you need x number of righties or lefties if they have the ability to get guys out. We should get stronger as we healthy and our young guys get experience.”
Some say that the Rangers did not sign as many relievers as they needed to secure their potential post season spot in 2013 Major League Baseball season.
However, some experts believe that the Rangers management focused in their batting department which miserably failed in the last outing.
Whatever the reasons, it is certainly true that the Rangers do not have matching winning relievers who could help them to achieve a more consistent standing in the next Major League outing.
Though they have currently around five to six experienced closers but still many say that it is not enough for any team to have five to six relievers to win championships.
On the other hand, the other Division opponents of the Rangers did a relatively good job to add more fire power in their bullpens.
The players that the Rangers are counting on at the momentum include reliever Jason Frasor, Josh Lindblom, Joe Nathan, Alexi Ogando and Joakim Soria.
Frasor knows his game well as he was certainly impressive in the last Major League outing when he successfully maintained his consistent 4.12 ERA along with 53 strike-outs and 1.47 WHIP.
Not only in the last season but his overall career ERA of 3.77 along with 36 saves, 499 strike-outs and 1.32 WHIP also makes him one of the key Rangers’ players who also possesses the right capabilities to lead this team towards more excellence. It will
be interesting to see how the Rangers come out in the regular season.
