Texas Rangers looking for successful 2011 MLB regular season – MLB News
It looks as if the Texas Rangers are planning and getting ready for a tough 2011 MLB regular season. The team has recently met for the spring workout session and had a chance to reflect on the expectations for the coming season.
The Rangers won the American League crown twice in a row. This is a tremendous feat, as the Rangers showed some serious dominance in their league. The team is looking forward to defending their AL pennant in the upcoming season.
As the training session gets underway, the team is looking to stay healthy and focused on maintaining their dominance in the league. They know that what really counts is how many games you win during the regular season and their post-season play. The Rangers
are an extremely talented group with some excellent players as they have the ability to beat any of the top tier teams in the league.
Michael Young also managed to talk with his team-mates during the workout session to clear the air regarding all the off-season issues he had with the Rangers. He basically reiterated his complete commitment to the team and told his team-mates that he was
focused on working hard and winning games.
"I imagine it would be tough to repeat," Young said. "It's not easy to win. A lot of sacrifices have to be made and a lot of breaks have to go your way. But one of the things this team has is good makeup up and down and off-the-chart intangibles. Those are
things that come into play over the course of the season."
Rangers’ manager Ron Washington took time to talk to the players during the training session and discuss the upcoming season expectations with them.
"Mainly, I told them to stay healthy," Washington said. "Don't try to do too much the first couple of days. Take care of our fundamental business every day and take it seriously."
Washington fully understands the importance of staying focused and injury free during the next few weeks of pre-season play. The Rangers will want to be at full strength with their line-up to evaluate their current performance against some top teams.
The Rangers will be looking to put in a good performance during Spring Training and the upcoming regular season. They are hoping to build some confidence and momentum that they can carry into each match-up and dominate their opposition.
However, the Rangers also understand that all of the other teams in the league have also gotten a chance to strengthen their pitching and batting line-ups for the season. It will be interesting to see the level of the Rangers’ performance during Spring Training.
