Texas Rangers looking strong as club moves to Anaheim to play the Los Angeles Angels
The Texas Rangers were looking strong on Sunday, September 25 when they humiliated the Seattle Mariners 12-5 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
The club won a home-run derby against the visitors as Yorvit Torrealba slotted two homers, including one grand slam that ignited the fans. The club took the opposition to the limit as they managed to take a much needed victory.
The club now has one last series left on the calendar before it heads off into the play-offs. Rangers will play the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The club is looking to keep a lead in the seed order and is looking to end the season on second
seed, ahead of the Detroit Tigers.
Ian Kinsler, who was part of the hitting line-up on Sunday, took time out to commend the fans for backing the team up in the encounter, regardless of what the weather conditions were. Second baseman Kinsler, smashed a home-run in the recent game and went
3-for-4, punching in three runs for the club. With a modest batting average of .253, he will be looking to hit well against the opposition in the post-season.
"It's been an incredible summer for the fans, it's probably the hottest summer of my life," Ian Kinsler said. "It's been over 100 degrees I don't know how many times, but they show up and continue to support us. That's huge for us."
Rangers’ President and CEO, Nolan Ryan also took the opportunity to praise his team that is looking strong at the moment. The Hall of Famer was happy to see the players and Manager Ron Washington do well in the season.
"They didn't let the heat, they didn't let injuries get them down," Ryan said. "I'm really proud of them and I can honestly say I'm going into the postseason very optimistic. I think this thing is gaining momentum and I'm quite excited about it."
With a series left, the Rangers are hoping to win the competition in a clean sweep. Will they be able to hurt the Angels? That is something one will have to wait and see, tomorrow.
