Texas Rangers looking strong as three series put them in the wait for the playoffs
If there is one team looking strong in their bid for the playoffs qualification, it is the Texas Rangers as they took an important win over the Seattle Mariners 3-0 on Sunday, September 18 at Safeco Field in Seattle.
The club pounced on Felix Hernandez to end the series, away from home, with a win. The club won the latest encounter and are now 4.5 wins ahead of the Los Angeles Angels.
The Texans have all but won the American League West division and they need another 4.5 wins to put them through to the next stage. The competition seems fierce but the team players are looking strong in their bid for the qualification. Matt Harrison pitched
an amazing innings against the Mariners to move to the 13th win of the season.
Adrian Beltre smashed a two run homer and the rest of the batters are hitting into momentum. Ian Kinsler and Josh Hamilton are looking strong, while Michael Young is adjusting well as a designated hitter. Mike Napoli is another addition in the roster that
has moved to his best figures in the catcher’s position.
"We feel good ... we're playing our kind of baseball," infielder Young said. "The stretch run experience last year was valuable. We haven't blinked."
Napoli knows the tide can turn anytime and there is a need to keep pulling in the wins for the club.
"We still have to take care of business," Napoli said. "We need to win games. This was a good series here, we won the series, now we've got to go to Oakland and win another series."
Mariners’ starter, Hernandez, put right when he commented about the Rangers after the recent game.
"They're dangerous," Hernandez said. "If you throw quality pitches, you can get them out. If you make a mistake, you're going to pay.
If the Texans keep on pouncing on the right balls and putting in good performance for the remainder of the regular season, they will surely hit the playoffs this season.
