Texas Rangers pitchers look to get over World Series loss
The Texas Rangers may be in despair, following their World Series loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, but there is optimism amongst the management at the club that the squad members will get back to their feet in the next season when the team will look to go
to their third straight World Series in three years. Losing two of those contests could weigh heavy on the players and the pitchers looked conflicted in their approach to the matter. They talked to the reporters from the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on Saturday,
October 29.
Neftali Feliz is going to be considered for a regular starter’s role in the upcoming season but his Game 6 performance still weighs heavily on him. He talked about the game tying triple he gave up in encounter as the Cards came back to tie the game 7 – 7.
"I'll remember the pitch that I gave up - the triple. I've made that pitch a lot of times this season. I just have to forget about it."
Colby Lewis is another hurler in the mix but he has always kept a cool mind over his role in the Rangers’ squad. As his 2012 option will likely get picked up, he told the press what many Rangers’ fans would appreciate in the coming days.
"It's a great group of core players," Lewis said. "We're looking forward to next year and getting back here again. That's all there is to it."
His response to the situation will be matched by C. J. Wilson’s approach to his future at the club as he departed from Busch Stadium after Game 7, in a rush. He avoided any questions on his future at the club and told the press he was leaving for a wedding.
The hurler is going to be a free agent in the offseason and there is a chance he may not return.
"The only thing I'm thinking about is getting out of these clothes and taking a shower. Other than that, I'm driving to California and going to a wedding. One of my friends is getting married. That's the only thing that's going on with me. I don't know what
will happen next."
With the Rangers distraught, management is hoping the players could rise back to the top when the next season kicks off.
